Henrico Firefighter Foundation
Assisting citizens before, during, and after a time of crisis, disaster, or emergency incident, including immediate emergency relief, monetary support, and education.
Safety-Training-Education-Prevention
The Henrico Firefighter Foundation was established to aid and assist the Henrico County, Virginia Division of Fire firefighters, first responders, emergency response personnel, emergency medical services personnel, civilian staff, retirees, and volunteers to accomplish the mission of the Division of Fire.
The Foundation assists citizens before, during, and after a time of crisis, disaster, or emergency incident, including immediate emergency relief, monetary support, and education. This is accomplished by supporting all things necessary to accomplish the mission of the Division of Fire, including assistance with ceremonies and receptions for firefighter graduations, retirements, promotions, and recognition programs. Additionally, the Foundation provides grants and scholarships for Division personnel to attend conferences, seminars, training, educational events, and other programs.

Stokes Grymes – HFF President, Mike Cox, Gerard Shaia – HFF Treasurer
On Thursday, September 28th, Mike Cox attended the Innsbrook Rotary Club’s grant presentation to receive a $1,000 check for the HFF. (We only asked for $500!) We’ll miss Mike’s efforts as liaison between the Foundation and the Division of Fire. We wish him well in his new venture.

Safety
Fire vehicles carry gift cards that allow firefighters on scene to provide funding for clothing, food or temporary housing for victims after house fires.

Training
The Foundation can pay for supplemental training and conferences not in Fire Department’s budget.

Education
The Foundation supports the Division of Fire’s Public Education efforts through the following initiatives: smoke alarms, cooking safety, electrical and appliance safety, candle safety, carbon monoxide alarms, heating safety and home escape plans.

Prevention
The Foundation is a partner in the County’s Smoke Alarm Initiative: providing free smoke alarms for homes without working alarms
